This is concerning the recent announcement made by the home secretary in the UK yesterday:
No changes to PSW
- The dependant rule will change from January 2024 intake onwards; there will be a temporary hold on allowing dependants for masters courses for Jan 2024 till it is reviewed and a concrete policy is put in.
- No change to part-time work – students will be allowed to work 20 hours per week during term time and full-time during vacation.
- Living expenses to be shown in the bank account are likely to increase in the following announcement.
Looking at the above, students who have dependents can still apply for the September 2023 intake. Our applications are still open for most courses.
We recommend focusing on converting students to the present rules for the ongoing September intake.
Those students who have cleared the interview must pay the deposit at the earliest as the university has already started issuing the CAS letters for Sep 2023. The sooner they apply the better it is before the changes kick in.
