Yukon College
Yukon College (now known as Yukon University since 2020) is a public post-secondary institution located in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. It was originally established in 1963 as a vocational training centre and officially became a college in 1983. Over time, it expanded its academic offerings and research capabilities, eventually achieving university status in 2020—making it Canada’s first university north of 60° latitude.
The institution offers a wide range of programs including certificates, diplomas, trades training, and degree programs, many of which are tailored to northern communities, Indigenous governance, environmental science, and climate research.
