Corpus Christi College and St. Mark’s College are Catholic post-secondary institutions located on the campus of the University of British Columbia in Canada. Together, they form a unique academic community that combines liberal arts, theology, leadership education, and faith-based learning with access to one of Canada’s leading universities.
Founded in 1956, St. Mark’s College is one of the oldest Catholic theological colleges in Canada and is officially affiliated with UBC. Corpus Christi College was later established in 1999 to provide undergraduate liberal arts education and university transfer pathways for students aiming to continue their studies at UBC and other major Canadian universities.
The colleges are known for their small class sizes, personalized student support, leadership-focused education, and strong community engagement. Corpus Christi College offers undergraduate programs in Arts, Business, and Science, while St. Mark’s College specializes in graduate theological studies, religious education, pastoral studies, and Catholic educational leadership.
Although the institutions are not usually featured in major global university rankings such as QS or Times Higher Education because they are specialized colleges affiliated with UBC rather than independent large universities, St. Mark’s College has achieved strong recognition in theological education. In 2018, the college received full accreditation from the Association of Theological Schools (ATS), one of the most respected accrediting bodies for theological education in North America.
