Hot Dogs
A hot dog is a sandwich with fully cooked sausage, traditionally grilled or steamed which is usually accompanied with mustard, mayonnaise, onions, ketchup, relish, cheese, chili, or sauerkraut. Thanks to its special mouth-watering toppings and unusual and special cooking methods, cities across the US claims of being the founding owners of hotdogs.

New York – “Beer-Steeped Sauerkraut”
New York is famous for its varied but simple hot dogs. One variety of has a traditional topping of spicy brown mustard with sauerkraut, sautéed onions with tomato paste. The sauerkraut gets its extra kick of flavor from chili powder and beer.

In Chicago, the red hots have a topping of yellow mustard with white onions, tomato slices or wedges, a pickle wedge, pickled sport wedge, and celery salt with garlicky beef placed inside a steamed-soft poppy-seeded roll. With another name of ‘dragged through garden’, this hotdog is famous for its many toppings.
