Dublin Institute of Technology
The Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) was one of Ireland’s leading higher education institutions, known for its strong focus on practical, industry-oriented education. Established officially in 1992, its origins date back to 1887, when the first technical colleges were founded in Dublin.
DIT brought together several specialized colleges (engineering, business, music, and more) to create a multi-disciplinary institute aimed at meeting industry needs and promoting innovation.
👉 In 2019, DIT merged with other institutes to form Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin), Ireland’s first technological university.
