It has been brought to our attention that many students have started keeping pets in their dorm rooms. Our campus has a strict, no pets allowed policy which is clearly stated in our policy and procedure rulebook. Each student who lives on campus should already be given one. The reason for this policy is to keep everyone safe. Pets can trigger people’s allergies, they can destroy school property, and they can cause lawsuits by biting other people. We have always been “pet free” and we will continue that policy. Students who have pets will be given 30 days to remove them from their rooms. In order to prevent euthanasia of people pet’s, we are going to hold an adoption day for people to come to campus and adopt the animals that have been living on campus.

Behavior modification refers to the process by which humans adapt their behavior to meet favorable circumstances or avoid unfavorable circumstances. When a person learns that a behavior is associated with pleasant consequences, they will continue. When a person learns that a behavior is associated with negative consequences they will reform their behavior. This is common in everyday setting in which people adapt their behavior based on what they have learned.
