Pittsburg State University, usually known as Pitt State or PSU, is a public university in Pittsburg, Kansas, with thousands of students enrolled in graduate and undergraduate programs. The university is in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, in the United States. Residents of the Pittsburg region have the largest student population. Nearly 89 percent of pupils are from the United States. PSU began as a Normal School in 1903, but in 1913 it became a full-fledged university known as Pittsburg State, which became Pittsburg University in 1977 after a lot of hard work and dedication.

The university lies in Southeast Kansas and has a number of technology centers, which are the state’s largest academic buildings.

  • You should score 21 or higher on the ACT
  • Completed curriculum with 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Residents must have a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Should have 24 or more transferable college credit hours with at least a 2.0/4.0 cumulative grade point average.
  • IELTS/ TOEFL/PTE scores required.

  • Flat tuition rate policy

PSU provides both the pricing and the flexibility you require. The flat tuition rate policy allows full-time undergraduate students (those enrolled in at least 12 credit hours) and graduate students (those enrolled in 9 or more credit hours) to pay a single tuition rate regardless of the total number of credits taken.

To make it easier for students and parents, the University offers the EMI option, which allows students to pay their academic year tuition in four installments if their course fees total more than $10,000.


Almost 80% of PSU students receive a scholarship, which aids them in their studies and provides financial support. The university also offers a variety of different financial help options.

A student’s scholarship can range from $1000 to $6000, based on his or her grades and accomplishments.
There are also grants granted to students that do not have to be repaid.

The Bicknell Family Center for the Arts, located in the heart of Pittsburg State University’s campus, is the region’s finest venue for fine and performing arts. This $33 million complex, designed and built by some of the world’s most recognized theatre architects, has a 1,100-seat performance hall, a 250-seat theatre, a 3,500-square-foot art gallery, and cutting-edge technology.

Campus recreation

There are a variety of campus recreation programs developed by the campus for students, staff, and faculty of PSU to provide experiential learning to the people by allowing them to organize and engage in activities such as the Sports Program. There’s also the WEEDE Pool, which is located in the Garfield WEEDE blog and offers everything from lap swimming to floating on noodles to scheduled swimming lessons and fitness courses. PSU’s fitness program provides a safe and comfortable environment in which to maintain and even improve one’s self-health while also taking care of one’s physical fitness. The Student Recreation Centre can assist you at any time. It’s a location where you may relax with a friend and play games like table tennis, basketball, volleyball, and soccer, among others.

Live on campus
